Privacy policy.

Effective Date: 01/01/2024

1. Introduction:

Welcome to InstructED. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our clients' information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

2. Information Collection:

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including personal details like name, email address, and academic information. This information is essential for providing personalised tutoring services and for communication purposes.

3. Information Use:

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our services

  • Communicate with you, including sending emails or messages

  • Enhance and improve our services

  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing:

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, as long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

5. Email Communications & Security:

We use Gmail for email communications. Gmail employs TLS encryption for emails in transit, effective only if the recipient’s email service supports TLS. If sending to a service without TLS support, Gmail notifies the sender. Be aware that email communication may not always be encrypted end-to-end, depending on the recipient’s email service. We cannot be held responsible for unauthorised access to emails unencrypted due to recipient’s email service limitations.

6. Data Protection:

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, alteration, or destruction. However, no internet-based service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Compliance with Data Protection Laws:

InstructED endeavours to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the privacy and data protection laws specific to Victoria, such as the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (VIC). These laws govern the handling, holding, accessing, and correction of personal information, with a focus on transparency and the protection of personal and sensitive information.

While we endeavour to safeguard personal data against unauthorised access and data breaches, it is important to recognise that no security system is infallible. InstructED does not assume responsibility for personal data compromised due to client misuse, unauthorised access attributable to the client, or data breaches occurring within third-party platforms that we use for operational purposes.

Our commitment is to take reasonable steps to ensure the protection of personal data, including employing appropriate security measures and staying vigilant in our data handling practices. However, clients should also be responsible for the security of their own information, especially when interacting with our services or through third-party platforms.

8. Your Rights:

You have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, as provided under applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy:

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Your continued use of our services after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
