InstructED Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected of all participants – tutors, students, and guardians – to ensure a productive, respectful, and safe educational experience.
Tutor Qualifications and Legal Requirements:
All tutors engaged with InstructED must possess either a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or a current Working with Children Check (WWCC). This requirement ensures that all tutors meet the necessary standards and legal obligations for working with children and young people in an educational context.
Tutors are required to maintain these qualifications and provide updated documentation to InstructED administration as needed.
1. Professionalism:
Tutors will maintain a high level of professionalism in their conduct, including punctuality, preparedness, and presentation.
All interactions should be courteous, respectful, and focused on learning.
2. Respect and Courtesy:
Participants must respect each other’s time, privacy, and opinions.
Inappropriate language, harassment, or any form of discrimination is strictly prohibited.
3. Communication:
All communication should be clear, constructive, and relevant to the tutoring session.
Participants should provide timely and respectful feedback.
4. Confidentiality:
Tutors and students must respect the confidentiality of personal and academic information. Sharing or disclosing such information without consent is prohibited.
5. Academic Integrity:
Tutors will encourage and uphold academic integrity. Providing answers or completing assignments for students is not allowed.
Students are expected to adhere to principles of honesty and integrity in their academic work.
6. Use of Technology:
Participants should use technology (video conferencing tools, educational platforms, etc.) responsibly and only for the purposes of tutoring.
Recording or distributing the content of tutoring sessions without consent is prohibited.
7. Safety and Security:
Any behavior that threatens the safety or security of any participant, including cyberbullying or sharing inappropriate content, will not be tolerated.
Participants are responsible for securing their personal devices and internet connection to protect against unauthorised access.
8. Consequences:
Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, suspension, or termination of the tutoring services, depending on the severity of the infraction.
9. Reporting:
Any concerns or breaches of this Code of Conduct should be reported immediately to InstructED administration for review and appropriate action.
